On line former cleaning is achieved through a 4 stages process consisting of a brushing, acid wash, pre-rinse wash brushing and another water rinse.

The purpose of brushing is to brush out any sticky dirt and powders because the dwell time in acid tank is not sufficient to dissolve away all the sticky substances and powders. However, it does soften these accumulated substance and brushes are used to scrub away the softened build up and powder. The rinse tank water is maintained at an elevated temperature with overflow system to increase the cleaning efficiency and maintain the temperature of porcelain formers prior dipping into coagulant tank to ensure appropriate coagulant deposit is obtained.

Coagulant tank contains Calcium Nitrate, Calcium Carbonate and dose of wetting agent. The mixture is kept in homogenous with a circulating pump.

The coagulant mixture is kept at an elevated temperature to facilitate the drying of former after withdrawal. Concentration of Calcium Nitrate and Calcium Carbonate must be controlled as per specification.

The purpose of this drying oven is to dry the coagulant deposit on the porcelain former. A dry coagulant will give a more even and uniform deposit. Un-dried coagulant floating on latex dip tank surface and also latex lumps in tank.

The drying oven temperature must be maintained at required temperature.

The purpose of latex dipping is giving a uniform layer of latex film deposit on the porcelain formers.

It is necessary to ensure that latex in dipping tank is kept in motion and circulating from top to bottom of the tank and back again. Such motion is necessary to prevent skinning, creaming and sedimentation. The suitable motion is obtained by means of slow speed mechanical stirrer and a suitable combination of battles and false bottoms.

Filtration mesh is used at the feeding point to retain air bubbles and traces of coagulum, which have formed.

The latex dipping tank is provided with a chilled water jacket for maintaining the constant temperature of the tank. Such control is important for maintaining a constant viscosity and stability of latex.

The capacity of the latex tank is about 2,500 liters and is maintained through a electro-pneumatic sensor mechanism.

The purpose of this drying oven is to provide sufficient heat to gel the latex firm prior proceeding to next process, i.e., bead roll, leaching etc.

Drying oven temperature must be maintained at required temperature as per specification. Improper control may cause poor bead on glove.

The process of beading involves the rolling down of the thin film of rubber. It is done by means of a set of small rotating brushes.

The bead shall strengthening the cuff of the gloves, and enable the gloves to be donned easily.

It is important to ensure that the required beading thickness is achieved and prevent defective beads like no bead, uneven bead and thin bead.

Leaching gloves in hot water is to remove water-soluble residue such as Serum, Calcium Nitrate, Surfactant etc. The effect is to improve the physical properties of the gloves as well as its resistant to water absorption and aging.

Post cleaning is to leach away the soluble latex protein from the dried gloves / latex film and chemical residuals.

The leaching water temperature must be maintained within specification and there must be continuous overflow to maintain the cleanliness of water.

The purpose of this drying / curing oven is to dry the latex gloves. Drying is required to remove the water content in the gel deposition and to vulcanize the latex film. Vulcanization is achieved by incubating the gloves in the oven at an elevated temperature for an extended time whereby cross-linking of latex film is taking place. This cross-linking gives the latex gloves its desired strength and shape.

The temperature of cure oven must be maintained at required specification. Low temperature will result in under cure gloves while too high temperature may cause blistering on gloves beads.

The purpose of slurry tank is to provide a layer of lubricating medium on the gloves so as to prevent the glove from sticking to itself upon stripping from porcelain former.

The powder is being prepared in slurry form before used and it must be an USP grade absorbable dusting powder.

The gloves are removed from mold by air stripping.

Strippers shall be sent to stripping booth to ensure that all gloves are stripped successfully by air, otherwise they have to remove the missed gloves by manual peel to prevent double dipping.

To ensure hygiene is maintained at all times and to minimize human handling on product produced, an automated conveyor is installed at the production floor to enable the gloves produced to be transported automatically from station to station.

Gloves shall be subjected to cyclone tumbling with hot air upon stripping. In this process, the gloves shall be further post cured to ensure the moisture content on gloves is lowed down to bare minimum.

Gloves are packed in state of the art air conditioned room, where the access to the packing room is restricted to authorized personal only.

The gloves are packed in dispensers boxes according to quantity stipulated by customer, prior packing into a transit case for final shipment.
